Riddles are a great way to keep children entertained and to get them thinking outside the box.

1.The more you take, the more you leave behind. What am I? Answer: Footsteps!
2.Where can you find towns, shops, streets and rivers but no people? Answer: A map!
3.What has 88 keys but cannot open a single door? Answer: A piano!
4.What travels around the world but stays in one spot? Answer: A stamp!
5.What can fly without wings? Answer: Time!
6.It belongs to you, but your friends use it more. What is it? Answer: Your name!
7.What goes up but never comes back down? Answer: Your age!
8.What has hands but doesn’t clap? Answer: A clock!
9.What is always in front of you but can’t be seen? Answer: The future!
10.What gets bigger the more you take away? Answer: A hole!
11.What is full of holes but still holds water? Answer: A sponge!
12.What begins with the letter E but only has one letter? Answer: An envelope!

15.What has to be broken before you can use it? Answer: An egg!
16.David’s parents have three sons: Snap, Crackle and what’s the name of the third son? Answer: David!
17.What can you hold in your left hand but not in your right? Answer: Your right elbow!
18.Can you spell Cow in thirteen letters? Answer: See o double you!
19.What two things can you never eat for breakfast? Answer: Lunch and dinner!
20.What goes right but never left? Answer: The hands on a clock!

22.It is raining at midnight, but the forecast for tomorrow and the next day is clear. Will there by sunny weather in 48 hours? Answer: No, it won’t be sunny because it will be dark out. In 48 hours, it will be midnight again.
23.What 3 numbers give the same result when multiplied and added together? Answer: 1, 2 and 3 (1 + 2 + 3 = 6 and 1 x 2 x 3 = 6).
24.I am an odd number. Take away a letter and I become even. What number am I? Answer: Seven!
25.You’re running a race and at the very end, you pass the person in 2nd place. What place did you finish the race? Answer: You finished in 2nd place!
