Daenerys

Daenerys is a name of English origins. In the Hebrew language, it is derived from 'daen', meaning 'God is my judge' and in Greek, 'erys' is derived from Eris, which was the name of the goddess of destruction. Therefore, the meaning of the name is stated to be 'God is the judge of my destruction'. Up until a decade ago it was not widely used as a name. However, George R Martin wrote a series of books known as 'A Game of Ice and Fire', which went on to be the widely successful HBO show called 'A Game of Thrones'. In the series, Daenerys Targaryen is girl who starts out as an exile but goes on to become a strong and powerful queen, who has not just an army but three dragons. The role was played by Emilia Clark, an English actor who is known as one of the highest-paid actresses on TV. The fantasy-drama is one of the most successful TV shows to date and it has won a number of awards, including numerous Emmy Awards, such as 'Outstanding Drama Series' and 'Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series'.
