Craterosaurus, which means krater reptile or bowl reptile, was a stegosaurid dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period. The only known type species, Craterosaurus Potonensis, was described by Harry Seeley in 1874, who had mistaken the fossil for the base of the skull. The specific name refers to Potton's bone bed.
Craterosaurus is pronounced as 'Cra-ter-o-sore-us'.

Craterosaurus inhabited the Earth during the Lower Cretaceous period. However, the Craterosaurus pottonensis fossils are not the oldest ever discovered.
It is unknown when these British dinosaurs became extinct from the face of the Earth.
The fossil of Craterosaurus pottonensis was found in the Woburn Sands Formation, England.
The habitat of Craterosaurus is unknown due to a lack of data.

Craterosaurus fossils do not tell us how long they lived.
It is known that they reproduced by laying eggs, like other dinosaurs.
Paleontologists found only one partial vertebra of a Craterosaurus pottonensis, and therefore we don't know what this specimen looks like. However, they are thought to be armored dinosaurs.
We are unaware of the total number of bones these dinosaurs had.
It is presumed that these dinosaurs, too, communicated by audible and visual signals.
Craterosaurus belonged to the genus of a stegosaurian dinosaur who was 13 ft (3.9 m) long. However, they were much shorter than the Gobititan.
Due to a lack of data, we do not know how fast a Craterosaurus could move.
It has been estimated Craterosaurus used to weigh roughly around 1234.59 lb (560 kg).
The male and female species of these dinosaurs do not have any specific names.
They would normally be called a juvenile.
Due to a lack of data, little is known about either this species' aggression or the power of its teeth.
It is assumed that it can be a junior synonym for Regnosaurus.
