Qi

The meaning of Qi translates to ‘fine jade’. Another meaning of this name is ‘emerging’, ‘enlightenment’, ‘life force’. Qi also means ‘wondrous’, ‘outstanding’, ‘special’, ‘pretty’. The roots of this name are in Chinese. In ancient China, there was state by the name of Qi during the Zhou dynasty. A high counselor of Wei state, Sun Linfu, was given the lordship of Qi who took this name and adopted it as his surname. Even the legendary Chinese emperor Huang Di named his son Qi.
