Famous for its seaside promenades, extravagant piers, and range of attractions, Blackpool is the ultimate spot for a family staycation and has so much to see and do.

Though it may be just over a four-hour drive from London, the popular town will have you feeling like you've flown away for an exciting holiday. With hotels, holiday parks, and camping spots beginning to open up again - now's the time to get planning your summer trip.

As the most famous seaside resort in the United Kingdom, there's no better place for a quintessentially British get-away. That's why we've rounded up nine of our favourite places that the whole family will love - so check them out, and get booking!

The Big Blue Hotel - Pleasure Beach

This family-friendly hotel sits right on the edge of the UK's favourite amusement park, is absolutely perfect for a fun-filled stay, and has great views of the park and coast. There are standard and deluxe family bedrooms available, designed with separate areas for the kids, and the adults (and infant cots are provided upon request). Each of the rooms also comes with a kid's area and entertainment area, with bunk beds, and even built-in TVs and PlayStations.

The hotel has its own restaurant, the Blues Bar and Brasserie, which caters for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and coffee - and has a range of food that the whole family will love and even a fresh create-your-own-pizza section for the children!

The hotel reopened on 4 July and is open for booking with new safety and sanitation measures in place to protect guests and staff.

Just a short distance from Blackpool Pleasure Beach, the seaside, Blackpool Tower, and other attractions - the holiday park is in the ideal location for a family trip. On the other hand, if you don't want such an action-packed, touristy vacation, you can simply stay on-site and enjoy the nature reserve, various walks around the park, and fascinating wildlife. There's also a swimming pool, a golf course, a soft play area, and it's even dog friendly!

Pick from your choice of standard, deluxe, or prestige caravans (which are also accessible and pushchair friendly), and choose which area of the park you want to be situated in - quiet or near the action. You'll also be able to enjoy four different spots for food and drink and a small supermarket for all your basic needs.

The park reopened on 6 July, complying with COVID-19 restrictions to make for a safe and enjoyable trip for the family.

It's also dog friendly for those who don't want to leave anyone behind at home. Simple but ideal for a relaxed holiday, the site has a children's play area, large ponds with fish, plenty of local walks to go on, pubs nearby to eat and enjoy a drink in, and is in a great location that's not too far from Blackpool's coastline if you wish to visit all of the popular seaside attractions. With super friendly staff and great facilities, you won't want to miss out on this spot.

The park is reopened from 6 July and is currently accepting telephone bookings subject to availability.

The resort offers free WiFi and parking, and plenty of green space for the kids to run around and explore whilst you sit back and relax. There's also a few family restaurants and bars nearby, and a cafe-bar on-site if you don't feel like cooking in the self-catering accommodation.
