Elijah

Elijah is a common name in the 'Holy Bible'. This Hebrew name is the name of one of the Israelite prophets who lived during the rule of King Ahab in the 9th century B.C. He was on the mission to remind all the Israelites to worship only one belief, only one God known as Yahweh and to keep distance from other people who had faith in multiple beliefs. Thus, the meaning of Elijah translates to ‘Yahweh is the Lord’. Prophet Elijah’s feast day is celebrated every year on the 20th of July. Elijah was once instructed by God to meet a widow and her son. He asked the widow for food, but she responded that there isn’t enough food even for her and her son. Elijah then affirms to her that God would give her ample supply of oil and flour until it rains on earth. As the widow feeds the last of her food left to Elijah, Eijah’s words miraculously come true. This miracle worker was carried to the heaven in a beautiful chariot of fire, and was seen no more. The popular Frodo Baggins is played by Elijah Woods in the ‘Lord Of The Rings’ movie franchise.
