Where is International Museum Day celebrated?
It is an international day celebrated all over the world to raise awareness about the museum and its importance.
It is not a nation-specific or religion-specific day. It can be celebrated by anyone from any part of the world.
The day was first started in 1977 by the ICOM, the International Council of Museums. Since the beginning, this organization has chosen a unique theme to recognize the day.
The day was created by the International Council of Museums (ICOM). ICOM is an organization of professionals with a global scope committed to protecting the natural and cultural heritage.

There are four objectives you can follow to honor the day. Firstly, advocate for museums among the local, regional, and national authorities by letting them know about your activities and spreading awareness to the general public about why reimagining the future of museums is important.
Another tradition to follow is to reimagine and recover the future of museums and their role in our societies. Finally, promote and implement cultural exchange as a catalyst for peace among peoples and implement the UN sustainable development goals.
The best way to celebrate IMD is to visit a nearby museum with your friends or family.
Since 1977, all the museums have been invited to participate and promote the role of museums in the world by organizing events and activities focused on every year's theme. So, participate in those events and exhibition trips conducted by the museums.
Some national organizations also organize free trips to visit museums which can be related to farming, space, fashion, archeology, art, culture, history, and more.
It is celebrated to raise awareness about the importance of museums and how they protect cultural heritage.
There is no official record of the celebration of National Museum Day, but every national museum can celebrate International Museum Day.
It was created in 1977, but the idea was inspired in 1951 during a meeting that discussed museums and education.
The day recognizes the contribution of museums in educating people about the history of humankind.
The International Council of Museums encouraged the day for museums.
The objective of IMD is to raise awareness about the fact that museums are an important means to enrich cultures and develop mutual understanding, cooperation, and peace among people.
