Creators of all things clumsy, hilarious and utterly ridiculous, Mischief Theatre are taking to the stage once again in their delightfully silly production of The Play That Goes Wrong. Also known as the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society, this much-loved production company has brought us family favourites such as Magic Goes Wrong, The Comedy About A Bank Robbery and The Goes Wrong Show on BBC, and their next instalment is no less of a treat. 

In this play within a play, the disastrous theatre group attempt a classic 1920s whodunnit as they try to solve the mysterious murder at Haversham Manor, but things quickly go from bad to worse. With everything from a collapsing mantelpiece, spotlights that shine on the wrong part of the stage, a murder victim who can’t play dead and actors who forget their lines or, worse still, get knocked unconscious, this West End comedy is a hysterical recipe for disaster. You’ll laugh out loud as the cast clumsily battle through to the final curtain call in the hope that the entire set won’t come crashing down around them!
 

Older fans of Monty Python and Fawlty Towers will love the slapstick humour that’s completely over the top, with brilliant jokes and perfect comic timing that make this one of the best new comedies in London. The Play That Goes Wrong is two hours of pure farce and an unforgettable treat for the whole family. What to know before you go

• Show times are Tuesday - Friday at 7.30pm, Saturdays at 2.30pm and 7.30pm and Sundays at 3pm and 7pm.
• The Play That Goes Wrong running time is 2 hours and 5 minutes, including one interval of 20 minutes.
• Doors will open 45 minutes before the performance start time.
• We recommend this production for children aged 8 and over.
• The Duchess Theatre is accessible for wheelchairs using their Major Stair Climber, which can be booked in advance. Please arrive 45 minutes prior to your performance time if you require this assistance. Wheelchair spaces can be found in Stalls N1 and J14 and there is an accessible toilet at the back of the Stalls. Guide dogs are welcome in the theatre and dog sitters are available during the performance if you prefer.
• The Duchess has a hearing assistance system in place using Williams Sound and headsets are available on a first come, first served basis.
• There are toilets on all levels of the venue.
• On-site bars can be found in the Foyer and Stalls selling soft drinks, alcoholic beverages and snacks. There are also plenty of places to eat nearby to the theatre including Pizza Express, Bella Italia, On the Bab, Côte Bistro, Franco Manca and Eat Tokyo.
• Please note there are no luggage storage facilities at the Duchess Theatre.

Getting there

• The Duchess Theatre is located in Aldwych, just a stone's throw from Covent Garden.
• Parking can be found at Chinatown or Trafalgar’s Q-Park Car Parks, offering theatregoers 50% off parking prices.
• The nearest Tube station is Covent Garden, a five-minute walk away, serving the Piccadilly line. Temple Station is also an eight-minute walk away for the Circle and District lines.
• Charing Cross rail station is a 10-minute walk along the Strand.
• Buses 6, 11, 13, 23, 59, 68, 87, 171, 172, 188 and X68 operate in the area.
