Gannansaurus was a somphospondylan sauropod genus dinosaur that lived in China during the late Cretaceous period. Lü Junchang, Yi Laiping, Zhong Hui, and Wei Xuefang named Gannansaurus for the first time in 2013. Gannansaurus sinensis is a type species.
The name Gannansaurus is pronounced as 'Gan-nan-sor-us'.
It's a somphospondylan sauropod with a single largely intact dorsal vertebra and a mid-caudal vertebra.
This species lived in China during the Late Cretaceous period in the Maastrichtian age.
Gannansaurus existed between 72.1 million and 66 million years ago.
